Avi Roth, co founder and past president of Spark Development Centers has spent the last 15 years writing and creating programs for children of all ages and backgrounds. He is a recognized expert in the fields of self development, parental involvement and educational strategies. As a Former Rosh Mosh, Madrich, and Chanich of Moshava Wild Rose, Avi has seen the inner workings of this specific camp from many different vantage points. As a former Director for Camp Darom in Memphis, TN he has dealt with the responsibilities of running a camp. Avi looks forward to creating a fun, warm, nurturing environment that the chanichim can thrive in. Avi currently resides in New York and is the proud father of his 8 year old son, Joseph. Shayna Schechter has been a part of the Camp Moshava system for the past 16 summers. Over the years she has held various titles including melechet yad and camp mom. With care and warmth she has watched and guided many chanichim through the Moshava system (some of whom started out homesick, then grew into poster children for machaneh!) to become capable, responsible tzevet members. Shayna and her husband David are loving parents and grandparents and live in Skokie, IL.

Josh Zwelling was recently hired as Director of Recruitment for Moshava Wild Rose . For the past 18 years Josh has been working as a Jewish Educator in both formal and informal settings. He is looking forward to expanding and reinforcing communications with existing Moshava families and promoting and creating excitement about Moshava to new families. Josh and his family have been living in Dayton, Ohio for the past 14 years. Josh is no stranger to Chicago and is looking forward to moving back this summer with his wife Deva and their four children Jacob, Ariella, Zeke and Jordana.

A dedicated Moshava-nik since 1998, Jason has held various positions around Machaneh including, madrich, madrich avodah, and rosh mitbach. Jason is uber-excited about being Rosh Avodah first month, and has already planned a plethora of activities. As a recent graduate of Yeshiva University, he is looking to pursue a career in law as well as living the upbeat lifestyle of an Upper West Sider in Manhattan. His wife Tamara (formally known as Tamara Wenig) is another familiar face to camp, and we are so lucky to have her as the social worker in camp first month. |

Rabbi Beer is Moshava Wild Rose's resident experienced Rosh Moshava. His rookie summer as rosh mosh took place back in 2005 and he has held the title every summer since then. Uzi and his trusty sidekick and wife Rachel, energize the machaneh with their youthful spirit, warmth, and enthusiasm. Uzi served in the Israeli army and currently lives in New Jersey where he is the assistant rabbi at Congregation Israel in Springfield, NJ and a teacher at Ramaz. |

Yocheved Clapman has been a part of the Moshava family for 15 years. As the head lifeguard she is responsible for all pool and lake safety issues as well as teaching a lifeguarding course to Mach Hach. Yocheved loves being with the chanichim and tzevet throughout the day and cherishes all of the precious memories and friendships from Machaneh. Yocheved in married to Binyamin Clapman, machaneh's Nahag. |

Binyamin Clapman has been a part of the Moshava family for 7 years. As machaneh's Rosh Nahag he responsible for driving around and purchasing everything machaneh needs from the outside world. Binyamin enjoys his summers in Machaneh as it brings him back many years to when he was growing up and attending camp. Binyamin is married to Yocheved Clapman, machaneh's head lifeguard. |

Barbara Geller was born and raised in Chicago. After graduating from ICJA, Barbara went on the Hachshara Program and worked at Kibbutz Be'erot Yitzchak. Barbara was a chanicha and madricha for 10 summers at Moshava and then returned later in life as Rosh Chadar Ochel, a job she has held for 12 summers. Barbara loves Moshava and all that it does for the chanichim and hopes that Machaneh will continue to flourish for many years to come. Barbara lives in Skokie with her husband Dr. Steve Geller, and is the proud parent of Zev, 25, Tommi, 23, Eliana, 19 and Matan, 16. |

This summer will be Jack Gottesman's 12th summer in camp and second consecutive summer as Rosh MIT. In addition to spending three summers as a madrich and a month on The Hill, Jack also spent a month in camp running the website where he co-designed the virtual tour and created the famous Moshava Minutes. Jack will be splitting his time this summer between the MIT tochnit and running Camp Moshava's YouTube channel. Jack's ideal day in camp is one spent eating cheese blintzes and playing flickerball. Jack spent two years studying at Yeshivat HaKotel and is now a student at IDC Herzliya in Israel.

Rabbi Seth N. Grauer is currently in his second year as the Assistant Rabbi at the 5th Avenue Synagogue in Manhattan and a veteran member of the faculty of the Ramaz Upper School. Rabbi Grauer received his B.A. in history from Yeshiva University, his Rabbinic Ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University, a JD from Fordham Law School and is currently working on his dissertation towards the completion of his doctorate degree at the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration. Prior to starting Yeshiva College, Rabbi Grauer spent two years studying in Israel at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Gush Etzion. At Ramaz, Rabbi Grauer has taught Talmud, Tanach and Halacha for the last 8 years and has been heavily involved in guidance as well as mentoring new teachers. One of Rabbi Grauer's current responsibilities is to coordinate the Ramaz Israel Guidance office. In 2008, Rabbi Grauer was recognized for his work at Ramaz by being awarded the prestigious Grinspoon- Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. Rabbi Grauer and his wife, Leba, are the proud parents of 3 children, Yonina (age 6), Yosef (4), and Gila (2). |

Jennifer Jacobson is an artist with over 15 years experience in graphic design and print publishing. She received her BFA at the University of Houston in 1991. She currently paints and draws and continues to freelance as a graphic designer. This will be her second summer teaching art at Moshava. |

Rabbi Danny Kroll started coming to Camp Moshava as a camper in the mid 90's and hasn't missed a summer since. In the past few years he has been Rosh Machal, Rosh Moshava and Rosh Kollel. Rabbi Kroll comes to camp with his wife Shira (also a Moshava lifer who is gearing up for her 18th summer in camp) his daughter Rayli and G-d willing another baby who is due to arrive before summer 2010. When he's not at camp, Rabbi Kroll is the assistant rabbi at Congregation KINS in Chicago, and a teacher at Ida Crown Jewish Academy. |

Yitzi Matanky is the definition of a Moshava lifer. Yitzi has been coming to machaneh his entire life -- this will be his sixth summer on tzevet and second summer as Rosh Moshava. Yitzi is also a head advisor for NCSY's Central East region as well as a member of the National Board of Bnei Akiva of the US & Canada. When he's not Rosh Mosh, Yitzi is a student at the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University in New York. |

Lee Matanky first attended Moshava in the summer of 1971 and continued as a camper until she became a madricha in 1979 after she graduated from ICJA. The following year she participated in the Hachshara program and lived on Kibbutz Yavne. She returned the following summer to camp to work as a madricha and then as Rosh Mitbach. Thereafter she attended the University of Chicago and subsequently graduated from Stern College. After teaching for a year Lee returned to New York to study at Bank Street College of Education and earned a Masters degree in early childhood education. She served as director of early childhood for the Bernard Horwich JCC and has taught nursery school for the past 12 years. |

Rabbi Aviad Sanders is currently the Rosh Beit Midrash at Yeshivat Akiva in Southfield, MI. Rabbi Sanders received his BE.D from Herzog Teacher's College and attended the Machon Straus Amiel Rabbinic Training Program. He received his Smicha from Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. Prior to working at Yeshiva Akiva, Rabbi Sanders spent five years at Yeshiva HaKotel in Jerusalem where he was the afternoon seder coordinator for overseas students as well as a Ram in the Gemara Bekiut program. Rabbi Sanders also served as a shiur assistant to Rav Reuven Taragin. Rav Sanders and his wife are the proud parents of two children. |

Avigail Varnai (Avi), has been coming to camp since 2001. The past few summers Avi has been a Madricha, Avodah Madricha for two years, and Sganit Rosh Mosh. She is also an advisor for NCSY's Central East region, and is occasionally a madricha for Bnei Akiva Shabbatons.
